Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across Telangana for the next three days after the low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and north Odisha-West Bengal coasts intensified into a well-marked low pressure area. The department has issued a yellow alert for several districts, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph, gusting up to 50 kmph.

Well-Marked Low Pressure to Bring Rain Across Telangana
According to the IMD, the weather is expected to change across Telangana over the next three days.
The low pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal and the north Odisha and West Bengal coasts intensified into a well-marked low pressure area by Thursday morning.
The associated cyclonic circulation, extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, is very likely to move northwestwards and cross north Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during the next two days.
Officials said that the influence of this weather system will create favourable conditions for rainfall across Telangana.

IMD Forecast for July 16, 17 and 18
The IMD has forecast the following weather conditions:
- July 16: Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places across Telangana.
- July 17: Light to moderate rain is likely in some parts of the state, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
- July 18: Light to moderate rain is expected in several areas, along with thunderstorms and strong winds.
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for three consecutive days.
Strong Winds and Humid Weather Expected
The IMD said that hot and humid weather conditions are likely to continue in some parts of Telangana on July 16.
Squally winds of 40-50 kmph, gusting up to 50 kmph, are likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
On July 17, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected at isolated places, and residents have been advised to remain cautious due to the possibility of strong winds.
On July 18, squally winds of 40-50 kmph, gusting to 50 kmph, are likely over the north and northeastern districts, while 30-40 kmph winds are expected in other parts of the state.
IMD Advises Farmers and Public to Stay Alert
The Meteorological Department has advised farmers, fishermen, and people working in open areas to closely monitor the latest weather warnings.
People have also been advised not to stand under trees during lightning and to avoid unnecessary travel outdoors when thunderstorms occur.
