Vijayawada: YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy today made sensational comments on AP capital. He said that it would be better if Hyderabad continues to be the capital of AP till Visakhapatnam becomes the capital.

He said that the previous government had also built a temporary capital in Amaravati and added that AP did not have the capacity to build the capital. “After the YSRCP came to power, we thought of Visakhapatnam as the administrative capital.

But we are facing legal difficulties on it,” said YV Subba Reddy while noting that he doesn’t I know when the legal implications will go away. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy would give an explanation on it after the elections. “I think Hyderabad should continue as the joint capital till Visakhapatnam becomes the capital,” Subba Reddy said.

He said that they were ready to rule from Visakhapatnam by making it as the state capital before the elections and added that it was not possible due to the legal implications.

“If CM Jagan wants to come and rule, he will do it from here. But here the employees have to think about it. Even today, employees from Hyderabad come and work here. We don’t have a capital of our own,” YV Subba Reddy said.

He  criticised the failure of the previous government that the state did not have a capital. He said that Visakhapatnam cannot be shifted as the capital in a day and added that it was not enough to have only one CM. “Employees and officials should come along with the CM in this regard. Facilities should be provided to them. That is why we want Hyderabad to be the joint capital. It is the YSRCP government that will come back.,” he said.
