KTR lays foundation stone for Amara Raja’s Lithium Cell Manufacturing Unit in Telangana
Mahabubnagar: Telangana's Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao, known as KTR, laid the foundation stone for Amara Raja's Giga Corridor for Lithium Cell and Battery Pack Manufacturing Unit at Divitipalli village in Mahabubnagar district on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that since the Telangana state movement, they have been working towards the development of the regions as well as uniting the people.
He said that regardless of the industry, the hard work of the industry team is behind every investment.
The Minister highlighted that attracting industries to Telangana in a transparent manner without bribery is a challenging task.
However, after Amara Raja Battery Plant was announced, 8 states in the country competed for it.
Telangana state’s excellent infrastructure and industrial lands with water have been the reason for the state’s success in attracting investments.
Rao also said that private sector promotion and cooperative partnerships with private companies would create employment opportunities and wealth for the state.
He assured to the management of Amara Raja, who trusted the state, to provide all kinds of support.
KTR also assured that the battery plant, which is going to be set up with international standards in a zero liquid waste method, will not be a polluting conventional plant.
Instead, it will be a non-polluting plant that manufactures lithium-ion batteries required for electric vehicles.
Excise Minister Srinivas Goud requested that the locals be given jobs in the factory, and the company management agreed to it and promised to start training programs for the locals in the new IT tower built next to it.
Amara Raja Group Founder Dr. Ramachandra N Galla, ARBL Chairman and Managing Director Jayadev Galla, and other dignitaries from the government and industry were present at the event.
The investment of Rs 9,500 crore in 10 years by Amara Raja in its Mahabubnagar plant is a significant development, which will create around 10,000 employment (Direct and Indirect) opportunities.
The plant will have a capacity of 16 giga watt hours, which is equivalent to providing batteries for five lakh two-wheelers.
