Mamata Urges TMC Workers Not to Lose Hope as BJP Leads in 190+ Seats in West Bengal Election

Mamata Banerjee urges TMC workers not to lose hope as BJP leads in 190+ seats in West Bengal election trends; alleges irregularities and counting issues.

Amid early trends of the West Bengal Assembly elections showing the All India Trinamool Congress trailing behind the Bharatiya Janata Party, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday urged party candidates and workers not to lose hope. She stated that the early lead in favour of BJP was expected and expressed confidence that final results would come in favour of the Trinamool Congress. The situation remains under counting, with results still in progress.

According to trends observed from morning till around 12:30 PM, BJP was leading in more than 190 seats, while TMC was ahead in less than 90 constituencies. Reacting to these figures, Mamata Banerjee reached out to party candidates and counting agents through a social media video message.

She instructed them to remain present at counting centres and stay alert throughout the process.

Allegations of Irregularities and Pressure During Vote Counting

Mamata Banerjee alleged attempts to influence the vote counting process. She said:

  • “Please ensure that no candidate or counting agent leaves the counting centre. This is part of BJP’s planning.”
  • She claimed that the early trends were anticipated and that BJP’s lead would appear first.
  • She stated that as counting progresses, TMC numbers would emerge later.

Mamata Banerjee also alleged irregularities in the counting process, claiming that counting had been halted at several places and discrepancies were observed.

She further accused central forces and police of intimidation and said:

  • TMC offices were being attacked
  • Offices were allegedly being forcibly occupied

She also claimed that TMC was actually leading in more than 100 seats, but these figures were not being reflected.

Allegations Against Election Commission and Central Forces

The TMC chief alleged that the Election Commission of India was acting arbitrarily with the help of central forces. She further claimed that the state police were being pressured to act under influence.

Mamata Banerjee Appeals for Patience, Says “We Will Win”

Encouraging party workers, Mamata Banerjee said there was no need to feel disappointed. She highlighted that only three to four rounds of counting had been completed so far, while a total of 18 to 19 rounds were expected.

She urged workers to wait till sunset and expressed strong confidence in victory, stating:

  • “Do not worry. We will fight like lions and we will win.”
  • “Have patience. The fight will continue strongly.”

As early West Bengal election trends show BJP leading in more than 190 seats and TMC trailing below 90, Mamata Banerjee has urged party workers not to lose hope. She alleged irregularities in the counting process, accused central forces and the Election Commission, and claimed TMC is actually leading in over 100 seats. With counting still ongoing and only a few rounds completed out of 18–19, the final outcome remains uncertain.
