Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Lulu Mall in Hyderabad’s KPHB Police Station limits after police discovered that a man inside the shopping complex was carrying a pistol, raising serious concerns over security arrangements at the mall.
According to reports, the incident came to light following an argument between two families in the mall’s parking area. Upon receiving information, police personnel rushed to the spot and intervened to resolve the dispute between the two groups.
While speaking to those involved, police noticed a pistol in the pocket of a man identified as Siddiqui, a resident of Hyderabad‘s Old City area. Officers immediately took possession of the weapon and conducted a verification process.
During the inquiry, police found that the pistol was legally owned and that the firearm licence held by Siddiqui was valid and up to date.

However, the incident raised serious questions about the effectiveness of security checks at the mall. Police expressed concern over how an armed individual was able to enter the premises despite the presence of strict security measures and screening procedures at the entrance.
Preliminary findings indicated that security personnel at the entry gate had failed to conduct a proper frisking and inspection, allowing the licensed weapon to pass undetected.
Taking the matter seriously, police registered a case against the Lulu Mall management for alleged negligence in implementing security protocols. Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
