MANUU Pays tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

Vice Chancellor MANUU Prof. Ainul Hasan emphasised the need of observance of Non-violence in the present Context.

Hyderabad: Non-Violence is age old idea observed by all religions of the world. But Mahatma Gandhi with the blend of Indian Culture used it as weapon against the Britishers in Indian freedom struggle. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) expressed these views in the talk “Swatahantratha Sangram; Gandhi Aur Hindi” organized as part of lecture series under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The programme was organised jointly by Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Committee, NSS and Department of Hindi, MANUU on the occasion of Non-Violence Eve’ Celebrations.

Prof. Ainul Hasan also emphasised the need of observance of Non-violence in the present Context.

Prof. Mohammad Fariyad, Chairman, Committee delivered the inaugural speech. Dr. Karan Singh Utwal, Head, Hindi Dept, articulated the Gandhi’s promotion of Hindi language as well the role of Hindi poetry and poets in Indian freedom struggle. Dr Arundhati, Asst Prof., Dept of CS&T proposed vote of thanks.

Earlier, as a part of celebrations online Quiz Competition for students on “Freedom Struggle and Mahatma Gandhi” was coordinated by Dr Arundhati. More than 300 students participated in quiz competition. Prof. Siddiqui Mohmood, Registrar I/c addressing as the Chief Guest recalled the sacrifices made by so many people for India’s freedom.  Dr Shaik Kamruddin, Assistant Professor, Dept of Management and Commerce, proposed vote of Thanks.

Prof. S M Rahamtullah, Pro-Vice Chancellor narrated the life of Gandhi and values that is to be followed by everyone. The movie ‘Gandhi’ was also screened on the occasion.
