Siraj’s Fiery Spell Dismantles RCB
Playing his first match back at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium since being released by RCB, Siraj made sure his absence was felt. After conceding a boundary to Virat Kohli in his opening over, he struck back in style, dismissing Devdutt Padikkal for just four and then clean-bowling Phil Salt with a stunning delivery. His brilliant spell left Bengaluru struggling at 42/4 inside the powerplay.
Despite a fighting 54 from Liam Livingstone and late fireworks from Tim David, RCB could only manage 169/8. Gujarat Titans chased down the target comfortably in 17.5 overs, thanks to an unbeaten 73 off 39 balls from Jos Buttler.

Sehwag Lauds Siraj’s Aggression
Former cricketer Virender Sehwag was full of praise for Siraj’s intensity and hunger, suggesting that the pacer’s omission from India’s Champions Trophy squad may have fueled his aggressive performance.
“He has that fire. I feel he is hurt that he wasn’t picked for the Champions Trophy, and I saw that in his bowling. That’s what we expect from a young fast bowler—‘You didn’t pick me? Now I will show you,’” Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.
Siraj Opens Up on Facing RCB
Speaking after the match, Siraj admitted feeling emotional and nervous before playing against his former team.
“It was emotional because I played for seven years here. There was some nervousness and emotion, but I believe I can do well anywhere, and that is my mindset,” he said.
Siraj’s performance not only helped Gujarat Titans secure a crucial win but also sent a strong message about his abilities, making a strong case for his return to the Indian squad.
