Wanted Murder Case Accused Disguised as a Baba Arrested with 115 Grams of Dry Ganja in Hyderabad
Hyderabad Task Force apprehended Lake Police Station rowdy sheeter Mohd Shaik Javed, wanted in Crime No. 230/2018, and seized 115 grams of dry ganja after arresting him near Pool Bagh in Saifabad.

Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, Khairtabad Zone Team, apprehended Mohd Shaik Javed, an OV Rowdy Sheeter of Lake Police Station, who had been absconding since June 5, 2025. The accused, who was also wanted in a murder case (Crime No. 230/2018) of Saifabad Police Station, was allegedly found in possession of approximately 115 grams of dry ganja. Police said he had disguised himself as a Peer Baba to evade arrest and avoid the execution of a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW). He was produced before the Hon’ble Court on Tuesday for judicial remand.

Rowdy Sheeter Apprehended Near Pool Bagh in Saifabad
According to the police, the Commissioner’s Task Force, Khairtabad Zone Team, acting on credible intelligence, along with Saifabad Police Station staff, proceeded to the vicinity of Pool Bagh, near Nana Miya Masjid, under the limits of Saifabad Police Station, where they successfully apprehended Mohd Shaik Javed.
During the search, the police recovered:
- Approximately 115 grams of dry ganja
- A green-coloured Peer Baba attire
- A polythene carry bag in which the attire was kept
Wanted in Murder Case, Police Say
Police stated that Mohd Shaik Javed had been out of view since 05-06-2025.
He was previously wanted in connection with Crime No. 230/2018 of Saifabad Police Station, registered under Sections:
- 143 IPC
- 147 IPC
- 148 IPC
- 302 IPC
- 120(B) read with 149 IPC
The case is pending as SC No. 10/2020 PT, in which he is Accused No. 5 (A5).
According to the police, a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) had been issued against him by the concerned court. To evade arrest and avoid the execution of the NBW, he allegedly disguised himself in the attire of a Baba to conceal his identity and mislead the police.
Accused Claims He Lived in Sangareddy Disguised as a Baba
During questioning, police said Mohd Shaik Javed admitted that since January 2026, he had absconded from Hyderabad to conceal his identity, mislead the police and evade the rowdy sheet maintained against him.
According to the police, he stayed at his grandparents’ house near Cheriyal Road, Sangareddy District.
Police further stated that during this period, he posed as a Baba and worked as a priest at Jindesha Madar Dargah, located near Cheriyal Road, Kandi, Sangareddy District, Telangana.
