New Delhi: General Secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani in a press note said that the representative party of RSS ideology is still in power at the Center and in several states of the country.
He claimed that the said party openly expresses negative views towards minorities, especially Muslims.
He said while the Prime Minister talks about the constitution and law in the Parliament, but the behavior of his government and his party in power in different states is quite opposite.
Mr Rahmani said minor violations are being used as an excuse to either close the madrasas or demolish the buildings of the madrasas. The staff of madrasas and mosques is being accused of terrorism without any evidence and action is being taken against them. Legal and administrative restrictions are being imposed on scholars coming from other parts of the country in Assam.
This is a clear violation of constitutional rights and is absolutely unacceptable. If closure of madrasas and demolition of buildings is the only punishment for minor violations of law, then why the same measure is not adopted for gurukuls, mutts, dharamshalas and other religious institutions.
It seems that the government is acting arbitrarily. The Muslim Personal Law Board strongly condemns such biased and hostile moves and calls for adherence to the spirit of the Constitution rather than any negative ideology.
The Board appeals to the Muslims to exercise patience and to prevent such illegal moves through collective efforts while keeping themselves within the ambit of the law.
