You will no longer hear the irritable Covid-19 caller tune when you call someone. Since the coronavirus pandemic has struck the nation, people while making phone calls in India would be interrupted by a COVID caller tune. They had to wait for the caller tune to end before connecting to the person they had called.
With the life returning to normalcy across India, the government has planned to stop playing the COVID-19 caller tunes which have been playing for the last two years. The COVID-19 caller tune was introduced two years ago so as to create awareness about the disease.
The first caller tune started with, “Covid-19 se pura desh hi nahi pura vishwa ladd raha hai”. Then it was replaced by the voice explaining the importance of Covid-appropriate behaviour like frequently washing hands, wearing mask, and maintaining social distancing to avoid the spread of coronavirus. Then in January 2021 it changed to awareness about vaccines developed in India. The latest Covid-19 caller tune informed that India achieved a landmark of vaccinating many people.
The long Covid-19 caller tunes had been irking several people which had forced many of them to switch to making WhatsApp calls. Now stopping the COVID-19 caller tune, would be a relief for many.
