Owaisi car attack: Hindu Sena to felicitate, provide legal help to accused

Once the two accused are released, his organization will felicitate them, Gupta informed

Hyderabad: Hindu Sena, an Indian right-wing organization, has announced to provide legal help and felicitate the two accused in Owaisi car attack case.

According to The Week, Hindu Sena national president Vishnu Gupta informed that his organization will provide all legal help to the men who are accused of attacking the car of AIMIM chief and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

The Week quoted Gupta as saying “The manner in which the shots were fired (on the lower half of the car) is clearly indicative of the fact that they (the attackers) did not mean to harm Owaisi but only wanted to warn him. They would have shot at him if they had other intentions”.

Alleging that even terrorists are entitled to legal help in our country he asked why must these men be deprived of it? Once the two accused are released, his organization will felicitate them, Gupta informed.

While Gupta’s WhatsApp status reads, “Join us against radical Islam & Protect Sanatan Dharma”, the website of the Hindu Sena states that the organisation aims to protect Hindus from ‘jihadis’ and ‘anti-social elements’.

Identified as Sachin and Shubham, the culprits were miffed by the speeches made by Owaisi against the majority community. On Thursday, they attacked, Owaisi’s convoy of four cars at a toll plaza on Hapur on NH 24 when he was on his way back from an election-related programme from Meerut. The duo have been remanded to 14-day judicial custody.

Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi has rejected the Z-category security offered to him after the attack. He has asked the Election Commission of India for a probe into the incident and wants that the shooters be charged with UAPA.
