“People’s Power Prevailed”: PM Modi on BJP Win in Bengal, NDA Success in Assam

PM Narendra Modi reacts to election results: BJP triumph in West Bengal, NDA wins Assam and Puducherry, UDF victory in Kerala, TVK rises in Tamil Nadu.

In New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that people’s power has prevailed in West Bengal and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) politics of good governance has triumphed, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has received a resounding mandate in Assam. He also commented on election results in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, with counting ongoing across states.

In a series of posts on X, Narendra Modi said:

  • “The Lotus blooms in West Bengal! The 2026 West Bengal Assembly Elections will be remembered forever. People’s power has prevailed and BJP’s politics of good governance has triumphed. I bow to each and every person of West Bengal.”

He said the BJP has received a spectacular mandate in West Bengal and assured people that the party will fulfil their dreams and aspirations.

He added:

  • The victory was due to efforts and struggles of countless party karyakartas
  • Workers worked on the ground for years and overcame adversities
  • They promoted the party’s development agenda

“I salute them all. For years, they have worked hard on the ground, overcome all sorts of adversities and spoken about our development agenda. They are the strength of our party,” he said.

He further stated that BJP will provide a government ensuring opportunity and dignity for all sections of society in West Bengal.

NDA Wins Assam, PM Thanks People for Support

On Assam, Modi said:

  • “Assam blesses BJP-NDA once again!”

He added that the NDA’s victory reflects unwavering support for development and improving people’s lives.

“I thank my sisters and brothers of Assam for the resounding mandate. I also assure them that we will keep working for the state’s transformation,” he said.

He also praised BJP-NDA workers for their continuous efforts over the last 10 years.

PM Thanks Puducherry for Another NDA Victory

The Prime Minister thanked the people of Puducherry for giving NDA another term.

  • “Thank you Puducherry! Based on our track record of good governance and the work of the government led by Shri N Rangasamy, the people of Puducherry have blessed NDA with another term.”

He said this support would strengthen efforts toward good governance.

Kerala Polls: PM Congratulates UDF, Thanks NDA Voters

On Kerala elections, Modi said:

  • “We will keep raising issues vital to Keralam’s progress and work hard to realise vision of a Vikasita Keralam.”

He congratulated the United Democratic Front (UDF) for its victory and assured continued support from the Centre for development in Kerala.

Tamil Nadu Polls: PM Congratulates TVK Performance

On Tamil Nadu, Modi thanked voters who supported NDA and said:

  • “Congratulations to TVK on their impressive performance. The Centre will leave no stone unturned in furthering the progress of Tamil Nadu and the well-being of their people.”

He acknowledged the strong debut of TVK led by Vijay.

As per Election Commission of India trends:

  • BJP is heading for a decisive victory over All India Trinamool Congress in West Bengal
  • NDA is set for another term in Assam
  • TVK has emerged as the single-largest party in Tamil Nadu in terms of seats won or led
  • The Left faced a wipeout in multiple regions

In Kerala:

  • Congress-led UDF has won or is leading in 101 of 140 seats
  • CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) is ahead in just under 40 constituencies

The Congress secured a solitary win outside Kerala amid overall declining electoral performance.
