Hyderabad Police Busts Fake Educational Certificate Racket, 4 Arrested
A total of 108 fake certificates from various universities and four mobile phones were seized during the operation.
Hyderabad: In a major crackdown, the South-East Zone Task Force Team of the Hyderabad City Police, in coordination with Mehdipatnam Police, busted a fake educational certificate racket and arrested four individuals on May 12, 2025. A total of 108 fake certificates from various universities and four mobile phones were seized during the operation.

Operation Conducted Based on Credible Information
Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force apprehended the accused near the Government School at Eidgah Grounds, First Lancer, under the jurisdiction of Mehdipatnam Police Station. The key accused, Mohammed Mujeeb Hussain, aged 54, who runs an educational consultancy in Chandrayangutta, was allegedly providing fake educational certificates for visa processing, study abroad, and job applications.
Details of the Accused
The four individuals arrested in the operation include:
- Mohammed Mujeeb Hussain – Provider of fake certificates, runs an educational consultancy.
- Mohammed Nasir Khan alias Nasir – IT employee and recipient of fake certificates.
- Mohd Al Baseer Rahmani alias Sohail – Mediator, works as a trainer at Cult Gym.
- Zia-Ur-Rahman Siddiqui alias Zia – Mediator, owns a gym in Tolichowki.
Fake Certificates Sourced from Other States
Investigations revealed that Mujeeb Hussain was sourcing the fake certificates from Manoj Viswash (Calcutta, WB), Ravinder (Meerut, UP), and Ajay alias Mukesh (UP), who are currently absconding. These certificates were then distributed to clients through mediators Rahmani and Zia.

Police Officials Involved in the Crackdown
The arrests were made under the supervision of Sri S. Saidababu, Inspector of Police, South-East Zone Task Force, and Sri S. Mallesh, Inspector of Police, Mehdipatnam PS. The operation was executed by Sub-Inspectors Sk. Kaviuddin, P. Sairam, M. Madhu, and K. Srinivasa Reddy, along with other staff members.
The police are continuing their efforts to trace and apprehend the main accused operating from outside the state. Authorities have urged the public to report any suspicious educational consultancies or document facilitators.
