Ponnam Prabhakar Directs MJP Gurukuls to Build Strong Brand Image, Prepare Students for NEET and EAMCET From Class 8

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar directed MJP Gurukuls to build brand image, improve results, and prepare students for NEET and EAMCET from Class 8.

Ponnam Prabhakar conducted a review meeting on Thursday regarding the performance of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Gurukul Schools in SSC and Intermediate examinations.

The minister congratulated principals of schools that achieved 100 percent pass results in Class 10 and Intermediate examinations. At the same time, he warned principals of Gurukul institutions that recorded low results and directed them to review the reasons for poor performance and work towards better results in the next academic year.

Minister Wants MJP Gurukuls to Become Top Institutions in Telangana

During the review meeting, Ponnam Prabhakar said Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Gurukul Schools should emerge as leading institutions in Telangana in the coming academic year.

He asked teachers and staff to work collectively and provide encouragement to students not only in academics but also in:

  • Sports
  • Cultural activities
  • Science
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The minister appreciated schools that achieved 100 percent pass results and warned principals of schools with low pass percentages.

Government Improving Infrastructure in Gurukul Schools

Ponnam Prabhakar stated that earlier, out of 327 schools, 301 were functioning in private buildings.

He said Gurukul schools are now functioning effectively because the government has been giving priority to education.

According to the minister, all required infrastructure facilities are being provided in Gurukul schools. He also said mess charges and cosmetic charges were increased to provide quality food to students.

Teachers Asked to Treat Students Like Their Own Children

The minister said parents are sending their children to Gurukul schools with trust in the government and teachers.

He advised teachers to treat students like their own children and teach them:

  • Discipline
  • Social values
  • Respectful behaviour towards elders

Minister Expresses Concern Over Student Suicides

Ponnam Prabhakar expressed concern that suicides are occurring in Gurukul schools due to small reasons.

He instructed teachers and school authorities to motivate students and build confidence among them.

The minister reviewed district-wise results and appreciated schools achieving 100 percent results while warning low-performing schools to conduct self-analysis.

Call to Create Brand Image for MJP Gurukuls

The minister said all teachers should work together to build a strong brand image for MJP Gurukuls.

He stated that Telangana’s Gurukul education system should reach a level where people from other states come to study it.

SSC Results and School Performance Details

The minister congratulated Secretary Saidulu and principals for achieving a 98.45 percent pass percentage in SSC examinations.

He stated:

  • 9,788 students scored above 500 marks
  • 204 MJP Gurukuls achieved 100 percent results
  • 65 schools lagged behind in performance

The minister warned underperforming schools to introspect.

He also said many students were failing in the Telugu subject and directed authorities to take special focus on the issue.

Ponnam Prabhakar instructed schools to install flex banners with photographs of rankers and widely publicise Gurukul results in villages.

Intermediate Results and High Scores

The minister announced the following Intermediate pass percentages:

  • Intermediate second year: 90.31 percent
  • Vocational second year: 97.72 percent
  • Intermediate first year: 85.80 percent
  • Vocational first year: 95.81 percent

He further stated:

  • 4,183 students scored above 900 marks
  • 496 students scored above 980 marks

The minister warned Gurukul institutions with poor Intermediate results.

He congratulated:

  • 35 institutions that achieved 100 percent pass percentage in Intermediate second year
  • 8 institutions that achieved 100 percent pass percentage in Intermediate first year

Focus on NEET, EAMCET and Competitive Exams

Ponnam Prabhakar instructed officials to ensure direct admission into Intermediate courses for students completing Class 10 in MJP Gurukuls.

He asked schools to send proposals for required infrastructure facilities.

The minister said students should secure good ranks in TGEAPCET just like Intermediate results.

He announced that computer labs would be established in every Gurukul school.

Ponnam Prabhakar directed schools to prepare students for:

  • NEET
  • EAMCET
  • Other competitive examinations

starting from Class 8 itself.

Parent-Teacher Meetings Made Mandatory

The minister stated that Gurukul schools in districts would be visited regularly.

He directed institutions to conduct parent-teacher meetings compulsorily and work towards strengthening the brand image of MJP Gurukuls.
