Hyderabad: The Special Crime Team of CCS, Detective Department (DD), Hyderabad City, along with the Rajendra Nagar Police, apprehended a habitual offender involved in cellphone snatching and automobile theft on July 8, 2026. The accused, Mohd Sameer @ Tufaan (23), who was allegedly absconding in multiple cases, is also accused of committing another two-wheeler theft this week within the limits of Narsingi Police Station. Police said the investigation is continuing.

Habitual Offender Apprehended by CCS Hyderabad and Rajendra Nagar Police
Acting on credible information on 08-07-2026, the Special Crime Team of CCS, DD, Hyderabad Police, along with the Rajendra Nagar Police, apprehended one person allegedly involved in cellphone snatching as well as automobile theft.

- Age: 23 years
- Occupation: Driving-Car
- Address: H. No. Errakunta, Shaheen Nagar, Chandrayangutta, Hyderabad
Pending Cases Against the Accused
Police said the accused is involved in the following pending criminal cases:
- Crime No. 592/2026 under Section 304(2) BNS – Rajendra Nagar Police Station
- Crime No. 136/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS – Film Nagar Police Station
- Crime No. 665/2026 under Section 305(b) BNS – Narsingi Police Station
- Crime No. 1267/2026 under Section 305(b) BNS – Narsingi Police Station
Police Say Accused Was Involved in Cellphone Snatching and Automobile Theft
According to the press note, Mohd Sameer @ Tufaan is a habitual offender allegedly involved in cellphone snatching and the theft of two-wheelers.
Police stated that the accused had been absconding in multiple cases.
The press note further stated that during this week, the accused allegedly committed another two-wheeler theft within the jurisdiction of Narsingi Police Station.

Police said the accused was absconding in multiple cases, including Crime Nos. 592/2026, 136/2026, 665/2026 and 1267/2026 registered at Rajendra Nagar, Film Nagar and Narsingi Police Stations under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is continuing.
