Hyderabad: On Thursday, Telangana’s Municipal Administration Minister, K.T. Rama Rao, inaugurated the Lake Front Park at Rangadhamuni Cheruvu (commonly known as IDL Lake) in Kukatpally. The lake, sprawling across 46.24 acres, offers abundant seating and distinctive lighting fixtures. This renowned lakefront spot is set to become a prominent leisure destination, drawing a larger crowd.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) undertook the lake’s renovation at a cost of Rs 9.80 crores. It includes features like pathways with paver blocks, cobblestone, granite flooring on the main bund, stepped seating, sculptures, lighting, a toilet block, and softscape on the main bund. The civil works amounted to Rs. 7.6 crores, while landscaping expenses were Rs. 38.52 Lakhs.
Situated near the Mumbai National Highway, the lake is a favored relaxation spot for nearby residents, with a bustling evening scene featuring hawkers and food carts along the main bund.
