He made these remarks while addressing a Madigala Vishwaroopa Mahasabha public meeting held by Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) at Secunderabad parade grounds.
Speaking on the occasion, Modi congratulated all those who came to the Madigala Vishwaroopa Mahasabha. He said his joy was doubled as he is among those, he wanted ahead of the Diwali festival. He said MRPS founder Mandakrishna was like his younger brother.
He said the first goal of his government was to eradicate poverty in the country. He reminded that noted poet Gurram Joshua pleaded his difficulties to Kashi Vishweshwara. He said only the BJP stood by the depressed classes.
“After independence, many governments have come into existence. It was only the BJP that implemented social justice. All governments have cheated the Madigas. I have come to cleanse the sins committed by the previous governments. I apologize for the promises made by the political parties all these years and for losing their word,” he said while noting that Manda Krishna has been fighting for the same goal for 30 years. He said they would stand by Manda Krishna’s fight and added that he was extending his full support to the struggle of the Madigas.
“For ten years, the government here has cheated madigas. Dalit Bandhu has become a scheme of relatives of BRS leadership. The BRS government was formed here 10 years ago. The expectations of the people here have not been fulfilled. KCR cheated by retracting from his promise of making a Dalit leader as the first CM of the State. The farmers were cheated by the promise of loan waiver,” he said.
Manda Krishna said for decades they had been looked down upon and added that they had been fighting for SC categorisation for the last 30 years. He alleged that they were treated worse than cattle.
“This is a dream we didn’t expect. We didn’t expect PM Modi to come to our meeting; thank you Modiji for coming to give courage to our community. If KCR suppressed Madigas, Modi has given positions to them. Modi is a leader who said that he will make BC as chief minister of the State. There is no place in the Telangana cabinet for the most backward Madigas,” he said.
He also said the Velama community, which did not have even a single percent population in Telangana , was given four ministerial posts.
He claimed that Modi was the only one leader, who implemented BR Ambedkar’s ideals. “Modi is credited with making a Dalit leader as the president of the country. After winning for the second time, PM Modi made a tribal woman as President of the country. Modi is supporting the depressed classes. The Congress and the BRS are only saying words on social justice. Thanks to Modi for implementing social justice,” he said. He alleged that CM KCR had suppressed the Madigas in the State.
BJP State president Kishan Reddy also addressed the gathering.
