Send those who made derogatory comments against Prophet to jail: Mayawati asks BJP

New Delhi: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati urged BJP to take legal actions against those who use offensive languages against any religion and send them to jail. She told this while commenting on the recent suspension and expulsion of two BJP leaders.

“The use of offensive language for any religion is not appropriate. In this matter, BJP should also strictly tighten the noose on its people. Only suspending and expelling them will not work, but they should be sent to jail under strict laws.” She tweeted.

Mayawati claimed that respect for all religions is necessary for the country.

BJP’s spokesperson Nupur Sharma and Delhi media head Naveen Kumar Jindal were suspended by the party after their controversial remarks on Prophet of Islam (PBUH).
