Hyderabad: Six days following the brutal slaying of former MIM worker and social worker, Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer, Hyderabad authorities apprehended four individuals, including the Jalpally Municipal Chairman. Two suspects are still at large.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Jalpally Municipal Chairman Abdullah Saadi, along with his associates Ahmed Bin Hajeb, Ahmed Saadi, and Mohammed Ayub Khan. Meanwhile, Saleh Saadi and Omer Saadi remain absconding.
Investigations into the murder unveiled that Jalpally Municipal Chairman Abdullah Saadi employed Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer’s ‘partner’ to carry out the assassination. The inquiry exposed a personal feud between Bawazeer and Abdullah Saadi.
The crime scene was Bawazeer’s demise on the first floor of the Buftaim building near Royal Sea Hotel Bandlaguda X Road, Hyderabad. Authorities initiated an inquiry based on Bawazeer’s father’s report.
The rivalry originated from Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer (30), a former dedicated MIM party worker who turned critic and ran a Facebook page under the pseudonym “Jo dikta wo boltou, jo boltou wo kartou.” On this platform, he openly criticized Education Minister Sabitha Reddy, Jalpally Municipal Chairman Abdullah Saadi, and others. The criticism primarily revolved around Abdullah Saadi’s failure in carrying out civic projects.
Murder Conspiracy:
According to sources, months earlier, Ahmed’s relative, Omer Saadi (currently on the run), introduced the accused to Ahmed Saadi, Abdullah Saadi, and Saleh Saadi. Ahmed and Omer devised a plan to eliminate Bawazeer, offering Ahmed Rs.13 lakhs. The condition was that Abdullah Saadi’s involvement should remain concealed.
Ahmed procured a knife and enlisted Ayub’s assistance to execute the murder. They coerced Saud, a cousin of the accused, into accompanying them to Bawazeer’s office under the pretext of an introduction.
On August 10, Saud and Ayub arrived at Bawazeer’s office on two motorcycles, carrying chili powder. While Saud entered the office, Ayub waited outside. Inside, the main perpetrator, Ahmed, sprinkled chili powder on Bawazeer, and during the ensuing struggle, Ahmed stabbed him before fleeing.
Deputy Commissioner of Police- South Zone, Ch Rupesh, confirmed the arrest of the four suspects, with efforts ongoing to apprehend the remaining two suspects in the murder case.
