Hyderabad: A large gathering attended the ‘Namaz-e-Janaza’ of Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer, who was tragically murdered in Bandlaguda on Thursday night. The final prayers took place at Barkas Ground at 9:30 pm under tight security arrangements. Initially planned for Jamia Masjid Barkas, the venue was changed to Barkas Ground due to the expected high turnout.
Local reports indicate a significant crowd gathered for the prayers and funeral procession, with people coming from various areas of Telangana, as well as neighboring states like Karnataka and Maharashtra, to offer condolences and support to the family.
Following the prayers, the body was laid to rest at the ‘Badha Khabrastaan’ on Errakunta Road.
The authorities, including the Commissioner’s Task Force, Chandrayangutta police, City Armed Reserve, and City Rapid Action Force, deployed a substantial presence to ensure security.
As part of the investigation into Shaik Sayeed Bawazir’s murder, the Bandlaguda police and Commissioner’s Task Force apprehended three suspects for questioning. Bawazeer’s death had resulted from a brutal attack with sharp-edged weapons in a commercial complex on the main road in Bandlaguda.
He had gained prominence for addressing civic and social issues, particularly within the Jalpally municipality, and had raised concerns about influential individuals with political ties who posed a threat to his life.
His passing led to increased security measures in Barkas and Chandrayangutta to prevent any potential disturbances.
