SpiceJet to Resume Haj Flights from May 14

The move comes a day after civilian flight operations resumed at Srinagar airport following a temporary closure due to military tensions.

SpiceJet has announced the resumption of its Haj 2025 operations from Srinagar, starting Wednesday, May 14, with two special flights to Medina. The move comes a day after civilian flight operations resumed at Srinagar airport following a temporary closure due to military tensions.


Srinagar Airport Reopens for Civilian Flights

Srinagar was among the 32 airports across India that were temporarily closed for civilian traffic amid the recent India-Pakistan military conflict.
These airports were reopened on Monday, paving the way for the resumption of both commercial and special services like the Haj flights.


Two Wide-Body Flights to Medina on Wednesday

SpiceJet will operate two Haj flights using Airbus A340 wide-body aircraft, each with a capacity of 324 passengers.
These services mark the official restart of Haj operations from Srinagar after the recent disruption in air services.


15,500 Haj Pilgrims to Travel with SpiceJet

According to the airline’s official release:

“SpiceJet will facilitate the travel of around 15,500 Haj pilgrims this year.”

Earlier this month, the airline announced that it would operate 45 Haj flights in the first phase, connecting key Indian cities such as Gaya, Srinagar, Guwahati, and Kolkata to Medina and Jeddah.


Scheduled Srinagar Flights Also Resume

In addition to Haj flights, SpiceJet confirmed that it will resume its regular scheduled flights to and from Srinagar starting Tuesday, restoring full connectivity to the region.
