Sunday-Funday at Hussain Sagar: Police Band to Woo Visitors on Oct 3

A number of activities and performances are planned this week as well to mesmerize the public across all age groups and give them a unique and memorable experience.

Hyderabad: The Sunday-Funday event on traffic-free Tank Bund road on September 26 received a tremendous response with citizens thronging the place in huge numbers with family and friends enjoying every aspect of the event. Following that successful event, MA&UD Department and HMDA is excited to be back with another fun filled Sunday-Funday event for coming October 3 (Sunday).

A number of activities and performances are planned this week as well to mesmerize the public across all age groups and give them a unique and memorable experience. A band performance, fireworks, cultural activities, shopping, games and eateries will all be present at one place come Sunday.

After some amazing performances by the Army Band and RPF band over the past few weeks, the Telangana State Police Band is all set to woo the public this Sunday. This decorated Police Band will be playing for public on Tank Bund mesmerizing them with their instrumental music. In addition to this, there will be a 20-artists team performing Puli Veshalu engaging the public all along the Tank Bund stretch. Like last time, there will be a Fireworks show as well lasting for up to 3 minutes which can be enjoyed by the public standing anywhere on the Tank Bund road.

With more than 20,000 saplings distributed for free last time, the Urban Forestry wing of HMDA will again be setting up stalls for free distribution of more than 30 species of saplings. SHE Teams from TS Police will also be present spreading awareness among the public through various activities.

For the shopping lovers, the stalls from Old City will be back with bangles, artificial jewellery, live bangles, pearl sets and atthar stalls. In addition to these, there will be Handicraft stall by TSCO. This time, Vijaya Dairy will also be setting up a couple of stalls. Caricature artists, face painters, temporary tattoo artists, magicians, etc were all big hits with the public and will be back this time too.

After being a massive sell-out last time, the Kebabs from Old City will be back with more varieties and delicacies for the public to indulge in. Bakery items, chaat, Matka Chai, Kesar Milk and Food trucks will all be present. Necessary arrangements for Mobile Public Toilets and dustbins are also being made.

With entertainment and activities planned for people of all age groups, this well-rounded Sunday-Funday event is sure to enthrall all the visitors. It was also observed in the earlier events that some of the visitors weren’t following Covid-19 protocols. All are therefore requested to wear a mask and maintain social distancing at all times.
