Hyderabad: Starting from August 14, the popular Sunday-Funday event will be back on Tank Bund. The event will resume after a gap of eight months owing to several reasons including Covid-19 restrictions. In a response to question by a Twitter user during his #AskKTR session, IT Minister K T Rama Rao made the announcement of its revival.
Launched on August 29 2021, at the Tank Bund, the Sunday-Funday was cancelled amid the rising threat of Covid-19. The event was launched to make Tank Bund traffic-free during evening hours every Sunday so that people can enjoy the evening on the banks of the lake. The programme became an instant hit as a large number of families started thronging the landmark.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will revive the Sunday-Funday at Tank Bund from August 14. The entire Tank Bund stretch is made traffic free during the event.
