Telangana allocated Rs. 5,071 crores for Rly Projects in Interim budget for 2024-25

Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday informed that Telangana has been sanctioned a whopping amount of Rs. 5,071 crores in the interim budget for the year 2024-25.

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday informed that Telangana has been sanctioned a whopping amount of Rs. 5,071 crores in the interim budget for the year 2024-25.

Highlighting the budget allocations pertaining to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states in the Interim budget presented on the floor of the parliament today, Ashwini while addressing in a virtual press conference from New Delhi, stated there has been a consistent increase in the funds allocation to the Telangana in successive Budgets in recent times.

The total investment in Telangana is Rs. 31,221 crores, he informed that 142 Kms of track is being laid across Telangana State every year as compared to just 70 Kms per year during 2009-2014.

In the last ten years, 414 RoBs & RuBs have been constructed, he said.

He stated that 40 Railway stations in Telangana State are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat station scheme.

The Minister informed that 45 One Station One Product stalls have been set up at Railway stations across the state to promote local products.

He said Indian Railways has been allocated Rs. 2,52,000 crore for the year 2024-25 in the Interim budget presented on the floor of the Parliament today.

The focus is on the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, he stated that efforts are being made to increase the capacity in Railways.

As part of it, 3 Major Economic Railway Corridors projects will be implemented and as a result 40,000 Kms of tracks will be laid in the next 6-8 years, the Railway Minister said. UNI KNR SSP
