Telangana Assembly Election: Raja Singh files nomination from Goshamahal in Hyderabad
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Raja Singh on Saturday filed his nomination papers from Goshamahal Constituency here for the November 30 Telangana Assembly Election.
Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Raja Singh on Saturday filed his nomination papers from Goshamahal Constituency here for the November 30 Telangana Assembly Election.
He went to the GHMC office in Abids in a bike rally and submitted his nomination papers to the returning officer.
Before filing his nomination papers, Raja Singh offered prayers at Akash Puri temple in Doolpet.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur participated in the bike rally organized in connection with the filing of nomination by Singh.
In 2018, Raja Singh was re-elected to the Telangana Legislative Assembly from the Goshamahal constituency with a margin of 17,734 votes by defeating Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidate Prem Singh Rathore.
He was suspended by BJP in August last year for his remarks against Prophet Muhammad in a video posted on social media. “The party Central Disciplinary Committee revoked his suspension in last month and fielded him from Goshamahal Assembly Constituency once again.
Singh, the firebrand leader, was the lone BJP candidate who won the Assembly election in 2018 and the remaining party candidates faced defeat.
