Telangana: BJP will go alone in upcoming LS polls, says Kishan Reddy
State BJP president and Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy clarified on Friday that his party would not have any alliance with any political party in the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Hyderabad: State BJP president and Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy clarified on Friday that his party would not have any alliance with any political party in the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
The 18th Lok Sabha elections will take place next year, in 2024, and Telangana, a newly developed state, has 17 seats for the Lok Sabha election.
In the recent assembly elections, under a seat-sharing agreement, the BJP and actor K Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party (JSP) contested in 111 and eight seats, respectively.
However, the BJP secured only eight seats, and the JSP failed to make a mark, with all eight candidates losing their deposits.
Addressing party state office bearers, district presidents, district in-charges, and Parliament prabharies at the party state headquarters here, Kishan Reddy said the party would be contesting the Lok Sabha polls alone and give strong competition to its opposition parties, the BRS and the Congress.
Expressing confidence that the BJP would secure the maximum number of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, he said that the winds are in favor of the BJP across the country.
Exhorting party leaders and functionaries to be ready for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, he said, “We have to start preparing for the Lok Sabha from today itself.”
Meanwhile, it has been learned that Kishan Reddy, who submitted a report to the BJP high command on the recent assembly election results three days ago, said compared to the 2018 assembly polls, the number of votes and seats has increased this time.
