Telangana DGP urges constables to be friendly with public but stern with criminals

Telangana State Director General of Police (DGP) Ravi Gupta on Thursday urged the cadet trainee police constables to be friendly with the public but stern with criminals.

Hyderabad: Telangana State Director General of Police (DGP) Ravi Gupta on Thursday urged the cadet trainee police constables to be friendly with the public but stern with criminals.

Ravi Gupta inaugurated the Induction Training programme for SCTPC’s (Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constables) at RBVRR TSPA (Raja Bahadur Venkat Rama Reddy Telangana State Police Academy) here in the presence of Academy Director Ms. Abhilasha Bisht and Ramesh Reddy, IGP (Inspector General of Police), Training, and Chairman, Police Housing Board.

A total of 685 SCTPC’s have reported to TSPA, and they will undergo 9 months of training in all aspects of policing.

The DGP mentored the students to follow the law at all times and to take pride in wearing the uniform and serving society.

Acknowledging the fact that more than 200 cadets have computer backgrounds, the DGP expressed his happiness that they would certainly be a big asset to tackling cybercrime.

The DGP told the trainees not to feel inferior to anyone and to cherish their training for life.

The training includes both outdoor subjects like physical training, squad drill, lathi drill, weapon training, and field craft, as well as various indoor subjects like police administration, law subjects, law and order, personality development, computers, intelligence, and internal security.

Three female trainee cadets shared their experiences of reaching their goal of joining the police department amidst hardships and ridicule.

On the occasion, Ramesh Reddy congratulated the trainees for their achievements and encouraged them to do their best.

Abhilasha Bisht emphasised the need to enjoy the training and not undergo any pressure or go into depression.

The director assured that any sort of complaint or grievance on the part of the trainees would be immediately attended to.
