Telangana govt declares 2-day  holiday for all educational institutions


Hyderabad: Due to heavy rains across Telangana, with up to 19 cm rainfall reported within 24 hours in districts like Jangaon and various parts of East Telangana, the government has declared a two-day holiday for all educational institutions.

The holidays will be observed on Thursday, July 20, and Friday, July 21. The announcement was made by Sabitha Indra Reddy, the Education Minister, via her Twitter account.

Currently, the state is under orange and yellow alerts as three different weather systems have affected the region, causing significant rainfall. Even the state capital, Hyderabad, experienced a moderate amount of rain for the past two days. According to the disaster relief force, there have been nearly 34 cases of tree falls recorded within the last 24 hours in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.
