Siddipet (Telangana): Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao unequivocally stated that BRS party chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) is a staunch Hindu.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the renovation of the Sitarama Chandraswamy temple in Potlapalli village, Husnabad Mandal, Siddipet district, Rao emphasized that KCR is a devoted Hindu who is actively involved in the development of temples across the state.
He highlighted the substantial allocations to temples, such as the Rs 1200 crore development of the Yadadri temple and the ongoing Rs 600 crore development of Kondagatu Anajaneya Swamy temple. Rao made it clear that it is only the KCR government that is taking proactive measures for temple development and ensuring the well-being of temple priests by providing salaries.
Harish Rao also noted that the state government had increased the offering for Dupadipa in 10,000 temples from Rs. 6000 to Rs. 10,000. In Potlapalli village alone, there are 140 temples, and he expressed his delight in initiating the restoration of the Ram temple with an initial allocation of Rs 40 lakhs. He further announced the allocation of Rs. 50 lakhs for the construction of the Shivalaya Gali Gopuram.
Reflecting on the agricultural success during KCR’s nine-year regime, Rao pointed out that crops had flourished without any drought-related issues. He emphasized that the state, which was once dependent on food grains, had transformed into a major rice producer for the country, thanks to the cultivation of two crops. Minister Harish Rao credited KCR with the development of the Gouravelli project, which had brought much-needed water to the region’s residents.
The event saw the participation of State Planning Commission Vice President Boinapally Vinod Kumar, local legislators Oditela Satish Kumar, ZP Chairperson Roja Radhakrishna Sharma, local public representatives, and others.
