Hyderabad: Telangana Revenue, Housing, Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy has directed officials to implement the state’s prestigious land re-survey programme on priority and complete it within the prescribed deadline. Reviewing the programme at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Minister said the government’s objective is to provide a permanent solution to land disputes by ensuring clear boundaries for every land parcel and assigning a unique Bhudhar identification to every survey number.

Re-Survey Underway in 2,240 Villages Across Telangana
During the review meeting held at his office in the Secretariat, the Minister discussed the progress of the re-survey, public response, challenges being faced in villages, and measures required to resolve them with revenue and survey officials.
He said that in the first phase, the re-survey is being carried out in 2,240 villages, with 70 villages selected in each district across Telangana.
Collectors Asked to Give Top Priority to Re-Survey
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy instructed District Collectors to treat the re-survey programme as a top priority and personally monitor the work.
He directed Collectors to:
- Review the progress every week.
- Ensure the re-survey is completed within the prescribed deadline.
- Ensure Revenue and Survey Department officials work in full coordination.
- Immediately bring any problems to the notice of the government for resolution.

Gram Sabhas to Create Public Awareness
The Minister instructed officials to conduct Gram Sabhas in every village to create complete public awareness about the land re-survey programme.
He said farmers and landowners should be informed about the benefits of the re-survey and stressed that the programme can succeed only with public cooperation.
Officials were also directed to remain available in every village where the re-survey is underway and immediately clarify any doubts raised by the public.
He instructed officials to maintain transparency while determining land boundaries and involve people at every stage of the process.
Modern Technology to End Land Disputes
The Minister said land is not merely an asset for a farmer but the family’s livelihood.
He stated that the government has launched the re-survey using modern technology to provide a permanent solution to land disputes that have continued for decades.
According to him, scientific surveys using DGPS, Rovers, and GIS technology will help determine accurate boundaries for every landholding.
Bhudhar Number and Bhu Bharati Portal
Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that after the re-survey is completed, every survey number will be assigned a unique Bhudhar Number and recorded in the Bhu Bharati Portal.
He said this will bring permanent clarity regarding land ownership and make land registrations and mutations more transparent and faster.
Special Focus on 373 Villages Without Maps
The Minister said the re-survey is also progressing actively in 373 villages that do not have survey maps.
He instructed officials to complete the survey in these villages as quickly as possible.
He also directed officials to:
- Issue notices to pattadars (landowners) before beginning the survey.
- Mark all government lands in the villages.
- Conduct the survey only after finalising the village boundary (Gram Kantham limits).
‘People’s Satisfaction Must Be the Priority’
The Minister instructed officials to treat the programme not merely as a government duty but as a responsibility that directly affects people’s lives.
He stressed that the survey should be conducted in a way that causes no inconvenience to the public and ensures people are satisfied.
He urged officials to approach every decision from the perspective of public welfare and successfully complete the re-survey to help build a land dispute-free Telangana.
