Telangana to Become Global Life Sciences Innovation Hub: Sridhar Babu Inaugurates ₹800 Crore Oncology Manufacturing Facility
Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu inaugurated Ciro Pharma's ₹800 crore integrated oncology manufacturing facility in Siddipet and said the state is emerging as a global life sciences innovation hub.

Hyderabad: Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Monday said the state is being transformed into a global life sciences innovation hub by leveraging rapid advancements in healthcare. Speaking after inaugurating India’s first integrated oncology manufacturing facility established by Ciro Pharma Private Limited with an investment of ₹800 crore at Biotech Park Phase-III, Karakapatla, Markook Mandal, Siddipet district, the Minister said the government is creating a comprehensive ecosystem by integrating research, technology, artificial intelligence (AI), advanced manufacturing, and skill development.

₹800 Crore Oncology Manufacturing Facility Inaugurated in Siddipet
The Minister formally inaugurated India’s first integrated oncology manufacturing facility set up by Ciro Pharma Private Limited at Biotech Park Phase-III in Karakapatla, Markook Mandal, Siddipet district.
The project has been established with an investment of ₹800 crore.
The facility will manufacture:
- Oral oncology medicines
- Sterile injectables
- Lyophilized powder injections
- Soft gel capsules
The manufacturing unit will use advanced containment technology for cancer treatment medicines.
Telangana Building a Global Life Sciences Ecosystem
Sridhar Babu said the Telangana government is building a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem by integrating:
- Research
- Technology
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Advanced manufacturing
- Skill development
He said these initiatives are aimed at addressing future healthcare challenges.
The Minister added that the government is committed to making Telangana a role model for industrial development in the country.
Zaheerabad NIMZ and Green Pharma Focus
Sridhar Babu announced that the government has prepared a special action plan to develop the Zaheerabad National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) into a model manufacturing zone.
He also reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting Green Pharma in Telangana.
Keeping future generations in mind, the government is encouraging industries to adopt environmentally sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing practices.
The Minister expressed hope that the next breakthrough pharmaceutical molecule with global impact would be discovered in Telangana and assured full government support toward achieving that goal.
Telangana Rising–2047 Vision and Next Generation Life Sciences Policy
The Minister said the Telangana Rising–2047 Vision and the Next Generation Life Sciences Policy aim to create an integrated ecosystem connecting every stage of the value chain from research to manufacturing.
As part of this strategy, the government is prioritising:
- Biologics
- Biosimilars
- Cell therapies
- Gene therapies
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Digital health
Opposition Accused of Spreading Misinformation
Sridhar Babu alleged that the opposition is deliberately spreading misinformation about the government’s flagship initiatives, including Bharat Future City and the HILT Policy.
He claimed that opposition parties, unable to accept Telangana’s industrial achievements over the past two and a half years, are attempting to mislead the public through false propaganda.
Facility to Generate 500 Direct Jobs
The newly inaugurated oncology manufacturing facility is expected to generate 500 direct jobs initially.
The Minister said employment at the plant is likely to double in the coming years.
He expressed confidence that the facility would strengthen India’s pharmaceutical manufacturing capabilities while reinforcing Telangana’s position as a global life sciences hub.
