Hyderabad Police Conduct Mega Cordon and Search in Sanathnagar; Illegal Liquor Seized, 5 Ganja Users Held

Hyderabad City Police conducted a Mega Cordon and Search Operation in Sanathnagar, seizing illegal liquor, arresting two liquor sellers, detaining five ganja users, and seizing 40 vehicles without valid documents.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police conducted a Mega Community Contact Program (Cordon and Search Operation – CASO) on the evening of July 6, 2026, in the Sanathnagar Police Station limits following credible intelligence about the illegal sale of liquor and ganja consumption in Patdhiwada and Fathenagar. The operation, supervised by Sri A. Ramana Reddy, DCP, Jubilee Hills Zone, resulted in the seizure of illegal liquor, the arrest of two persons involved in illegal liquor sales, detention of five persons who tested positive for ganja consumption, and seizure of vehicles without valid documents.

Mega Cordon and Search Conducted in Sanathnagar

The operation was carried out under the direct supervision of Sri A. Ramana Reddy, DCP, Jubilee Hills Zone.

A large police force participated in the operation, including:

  • 1 Additional DCP
  • 2 ACPs
  • 10 Circle Inspectors (CIs)
  • 20 Sub-Inspectors (SIs)
  • 150 other police personnel

The deployment included:

  • 10 Search Parties
  • 10 Cut-off Parties
  • 5 Lifting Parties
  • 1 Holding Point

The searches were conducted in the Patdhiwada and Fathenagar areas within the jurisdiction of Sanathnagar Police Station.

Illegal Liquor Seized, Two Arrested

The primary objective of the operation was to identify and eliminate the illegal sale of liquor.

During the searches, police seized:

  • 25 litres of IMFL from 2 local belt shops.
  • 82 liquor bottles allegedly kept for illegal sale.

Police also arrested two persons who were managing the illegal liquor sales.

15 Ganja Suspects Tested, 5 Found Positive

With the assistance of the HNew Team, police rounded up 15 suspects suspected of consuming ganja.

All 15 individuals underwent testing.

According to the police, 5 persons tested positive for ganja consumption and were taken into custody.

Police said legal action is being initiated under the NDPS Act against the five individuals.

Vehicles Without Documents Seized

During the operation, police also carried out vehicle verification.

The following vehicles were seized for further verification due to the absence of valid documents:

  • 35 two-wheelers
  • 5 three-wheelers

Jubilee Hills Police Reiterate Commitment

The Jubilee Hills Zonal Police stated that they remain committed to ensuring public safety and strictly enforcing a drug-free city.

Police said further stringent legal action is being initiated against all violators.

The press note was issued by the DCP, Jubilee Hills Zone, Hyderabad City Police.
