Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials arrested two more government officials from the Animal Husbandry Department (Ranga Reddy) on Thursday in the sheep distribution scheme scam.
In continuation of the investigation of the case related to the scam, the ACB officials have arrested Animal Husbandry Joint Director Dr. Anjilappa (A7) and Assistant Director Dr. P Krishnaiah (A8) in the criminal misappropriation case (RCO) which was registered against them, the ACB said in a release here.
The two officials colluded and conspired with private persons and resorted to gross illegal acts and violations in the course of their duties.
With a malafide intention, both officials deliberately forwarded the details of the fake sellers to the collector for disbursement of money to them, due to which the fake sellers got money instead of the original sellers.
In view of the facts, the accused officials and private persons illegally obtained undue advantage and thus caused wrongful loss to the government exchequer and thus misappropriated government funds worth Rs 2.10 crores in collusion and conspiracy with both officials.
The accused officers were produced before the First Additional Special Judge for ACB cases in Hyderabad for judicial remand, the release added.
