Telangana Water Supply Disruption in parts of Hyderabad
A 30-hour water supply disruption in Hyderabad's key areas from August 19.
Hyderabad, Telangana: In an effort to enhance the water infrastructure, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) is undertaking crucial junction works within the Manjeera Water Supply Phase-2 project. This undertaking, while aimed at long-term improvement, brings along a temporary challenge for residents in parts of the city.
Starting from 6 am on August 19, a planned water supply disruption of 30 hours is scheduled for several neighborhoods in Hyderabad. Residents in areas such as Erragadda, SR Nagar, Ameerpet, KPHB Colony, Kukatpally, Moosapet, and Jagathgiri Gutta will experience an interruption in their regular water supply.
The areas directly affected by this scheduled disruption include not only the ones mentioned earlier but also extend to RC Puram, Ashok Nagar, Miyapur, Lingampally, Chanda Nagar, Deepthisri Nagar, Madinaguda, Beeramguda, and Ameenpur. This strategic intervention is necessary to ensure the sustained and efficient functioning of the city’s water supply system.
The main cause for this temporary inconvenience stems from the essential repair and maintenance activities conducted by HMWS&SB within the Manjeera Water Supply Phase-2 project. Specifically, a 1500mm Diameter MS pipeline extending from Kalabgoor to Patancheruvu and another pipeline from Patencheruvu to Hydernagar are currently undergoing necessary repairs and enhancements.
With the disruption impending, HMWS&SB urges residents to be conscious of their water consumption and utilize it conservatively. By employing mindful water practices, individuals can contribute to alleviating potential inconveniences caused by the temporary supply halt.
