Three die after eating mushroom; host booked

In Australia, a 49-year-old woman named Erin Patterson has been charged with three counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder in connection with a meal she served earlier this year, which led to the deaths of three people from suspected death cap mushroom poisoning.

The victims were her former parents-in-law and her mother-in-law’s sister and husband. Patterson has maintained that she had no knowledge of the mushrooms being dangerous.

The investigation, which has garnered significant public and media attention, is ongoing. Detective Inspector Dean Thomas emphasized the importance of keeping in mind the loss of three lives in this tragic event.
