Hyderabad Traffic Police Detect Fake Number Plate on Bajaj Pulsar at Afzalgunj, Rider Handed Over for Criminal Investigation

Hyderabad Traffic Police detected a Bajaj Pulsar with a fake registration plate during a special drive at Afzalgunj. Rider Shaik Rasool Ali was handed over for criminal investigation.

Hyderabad: The Goshamahal Traffic Police Station detected a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle operating with a fake registration number plate during a special traffic enforcement drive at Afzalgunj T-Junction on July 10, 2026. The rider, Shaik Rasool Ali (26), allegedly confessed to purchasing the motorcycle through Facebook from an unknown seller for Rs. 20,000 around six months ago. The rider and the seized motorcycle have been handed over to Afzalgunj Law & Order Police Station for a detailed criminal investigation.

Fake Number Plate Detected During Special Traffic Enforcement Drive

As part of the ongoing drive against traffic violations and the use of illegal or forged registration plates, officials of the Goshamahal Traffic Police Station intercepted a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle at Afzalgunj T-Junction within the police station limits.

The motorcycle was displaying registration number TG16B4921.

e-Challan Verification Exposes Counterfeit Registration Number

During real-time verification through the official digital e-Challan system, traffic police found that the registration number TG16B4921 was counterfeit.

According to police records, the registration number actually belongs to a Honda SP 125 DLX motorcycle, confirming that the Bajaj Pulsar was operating with a fake identity.

Rider Identified as Shaik Rasool Ali

The rider was identified as Shaik Rasool Ali, 26 years, a mechanic by profession.

Police said he is a native of Achampet, Mahabubnagar district, and is currently residing in Ameerpet while working at Miyapur.

During questioning, the rider failed to produce any valid ownership documents or vehicle records.

Rider Says Motorcycle Was Bought Through Facebook

During preliminary interrogation, Shaik Rasool Ali admitted that he had purchased the motorcycle approximately six months ago from an unidentified person through a Facebook Marketplace listing.

He told police that he paid Rs. 20,000 for the motorcycle.

Vehicle Handed Over for Criminal Investigation

To verify the actual ownership of the motorcycle, establish its origin, and investigate whether it is stolen property or linked to any other criminal offences, the rider and the seized motorcycle have been formally handed over to the Afzalgunj Law & Order Police Station.

Police said necessary statutory legal action is being initiated against the violator.
