Under which law the houses of Muslims are being demolished in Khargone? Asks Jamiat Ulema

New Delhi: Prominent Muslim body Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind has raised serious questions against demolition of Muslim house in Khargone by the state administration.

Taking to twitter the Muslim body asks, Under which law the houses of Muslims are being demolished in Khargone, MP? Which court of law has allowed this? The Muslim body seeks urgent suo moto intervention of President of India, Prime Minister of India, Home Minister, National Human Rights Council and National Commission of Minorities.

Seeking Home Minister Amit Shah’s intervention over the issue of alleged harassment of the minority community in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind on Tuesday demanded a high-level judicial inquiry into the violence there.

Writing a letter to Shah, Jamiat chief Maulana Mahmood Madani flagged the issue of harassment of Muslims, saying their properties were being razed in a selective manner.  PTI rep0rted.

Khargone district administration on Monday demolished at least 50 “illegal” structures of people accused of pelting stones at a Ram Navami procession with the state government saying that damage caused to public and private properties during the violence will be recovered from rioters. All the structures reportedly belong to minority community.

More than 80 people have been arrested in connection with stone pelting and incidents of arson. Maulana Madani has expressed deep anguish over the communal violence in several parts of the country on the occasion of Ram Navami festival.
