Ruling Party Calls It a ‘Historic Moment’
BJP leaders have hailed the bill as a major step toward transparency and better governance of Waqf properties.
BJP MP Kangana Ranaut described the passage of the Waqf Bill as a historic achievement, crediting the Modi government for ensuring accountability.
“This is a historic day. The amendments will bring transparency and improve the management of Waqf properties. Corrupt practices will now be held accountable, something that was missing earlier,” said Ranaut.
Echoing similar sentiments, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari criticized Congress and its leader Sonia Gandhi for opposing the Bill.
“For Congress, it may be a black day, but for the nation, it is a day of celebration. Congress itself lacks democracy, so it opposes such a bill,” he remarked.
Tiwari alleged that several Congress leaders have personally benefited from Waqf properties.
“The only ones unhappy with this Bill are those who have been exploiting Waqf properties for their gains,” he added.
