YSRTP will not contest elections in Telangana, Sharmila announced

Hyderabad: YSR Telangana Party chief YS Sharmila today said that he will not contest the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana and announced his support to the Congress party in Telangana.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s younger sister YS Sharmila said that her party has decided to support the Congress party to avoid division of votes in the elections.
YS Sharmila said that his party has decided to make this sacrifice to end the corrupt and anti-people rule of BRS under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Sharmila also said that according to many surveys and reports, it has been felt that our participation in the assembly elections will directly affect the vote share of the Congress in many constituencies. Therefore, YSR Telangana Party has decided not to contest in Telangana assembly elections
It should be noted that co-voting will be held in Telangana on November 30 and the results will be announced on December 3. YS Sharmila had met Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in September after which she claimed that important discussions were held in the meeting.
