3-yr-old Lubna loses 3 fingers crushed in a joyride at Hyderabad mall



Hyderabad: A three-year-old girl lost her three fingers after getting struck in a joyride machine at a shopping mall in Hyderabad.


Mehwish Lubna, a girl from Ibrahimnagar, was playing with her siblings at the Smash Zone, a playing area on the 4-th floor of the City Centre Mall at Banjara Hills on Sunday evening.

While playing, her right hand three fingers and the tip of her left-hand index finger got crushed in the backside door of the ride machine, which was kept open, according to her father.

She was rushed to nearby Yashoda Hospital, but doctors could not save the victim’s fingers.

Her parents filed a complaint against the mall management and Smash Zone, at the Banjara Hills police station and accused them of gross negligence.

Police registered a case against the mall under Section 337 (negligence) of IPC. Further investigations are underway.
