₹31 Lakh Foreign Currency Seized at Hyderabad Airport, CISF Intercepts Kuala Lumpur-Bound Passenger

In a major foreign currency seizure at Hyderabad Airport, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) CIW team intercepted an international departure passenger bound for Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. Acting on suspicious behavioural patterns and profiling, officials detected and seized foreign currency equivalent to approximately ₹31 lakh during baggage screening. The passenger and seized amount have been handed over to Customs officials for further action as per SOP.

CISF Detects Suspicious Behaviour at Hyderabad Airport

According to officials, the CISF CIW team stationed at Hyderabad Airport identified a passenger during international departure procedures based on suspicious behavioural patterns and profiling.

The passenger, who was travelling to Kuala Lumpur, was immediately intercepted and escorted for X-BIS (X-ray Baggage Inspection System) screening.

₹31 Lakh Foreign Currency Recovered During X-BIS Screening

During the X-BIS screening of the passenger’s baggage, suspicious images were detected. Upon detailed examination of the hand baggage, officials recovered foreign currency equivalent to approximately ₹31 lakh.
