4 injured in blast in SW Pakistan

At least four people were injured in a blast in Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province on Thursday, police said.

Islamabad: At least four people were injured in a blast in Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province on Thursday, police said.

The explosion happened near a vehicle in Kohlu district of the province, said police in the area, adding that a brother of an independent candidate contesting general elections is among the injured people.

Following the blast, police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation in the surroundings to arrest the culprits.

The nature of the explosion has not been officially confirmed yet. An investigation into the incident has been kicked off to determine the nature of the blast, said the police.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the blast.
