Saudi Arabia Launches Red Sea International Film Festival
The first-ever festival in Saudi Arabia runs until Dec. 16 with the participation of Arab and international stars, a statement on the festival's website said.
Riyadh: The Red Sea International Film Festival commenced on Monday in Al Balad (Old Town) of Jeddah, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The festival showcases the kingdom’s filmmaking talents and international hits, including a Chinese short film “All the Crows in the World.”
The dark comedy film about an 18 years old girl won the best short film award at Cannes Film Festival 2021.
As part of the festival, a series of events will be held for the Red Sea Souk, a film market running alongside the public Festival scheduled to run from Dec. 8 to 11.
The festival will also launch its Talent Days Program, with a focus on emerging filmmakers in the region.
Saudi Film Commission launched last month a strategy to build a film industry with a revenue of 500 million U.S. dollars, aiming to establish the kingdom as a world-class film hub.
