Did a 9-Year-Old Girl Really Give Birth in Kaithal? Here’s the Truth Behind the Viral Video

Kaithal police clarify that the viral video claiming a 9-year-old girl gave birth is false and misleading. The video has no link to Kaithal and was wrongly communalised on social media.

A highly sensitive and disturbing video has gone viral on social media with a shocking claim that a 9-year-old girl gave birth to a child in Kaithal district of Haryana. The video shows a very young girl in a hospital with a newborn, while a woman police officer can be heard in the background referring to a case. The visuals sparked panic, anger, and fear among the public.

However, the truth behind the viral claim is completely different, and authorities have clarified that the video is being misused and falsely linked to Kaithal.

Police Clarification: Video Not Linked to Kaithal

The Kaithal Police have clearly stated that the viral video is misleading and has no connection with Kaithal district. Officials confirmed that the incident shown in the video did not occur in Kaithal, nor is it linked to any current case from the district.

What the Video Actually Shows

According to police:

  • The video was recorded on March 5, 2025
  • It was filmed during a seminar for law students at NIILM University
  • During the seminar, Geeta, In-Charge of Kaithal City Police Station, shared investigation experiences
  • A past case involving a minor girl becoming a mother was mentioned only as an example
  • That case had no connection to Kaithal district

The video clip was later taken out of context and shared online with a false and alarming narrative.

False and Communal Angle Pushed on Social Media

It has been observed that some social media handles attempted to link the viral video to a particular community, especially by suggesting that the incident involved a Muslim family.

  • No community is mentioned anywhere in the video
  • The police narration does not identify any religion or community
  • Despite this, misleading captions and comments were used to create communal suspicion

It is important to state clearly that a crime remains a crime, regardless of who commits it, and there is no need to falsely associate such acts with any community. The attempt to communalise this sensitive issue has failed in the face of verified facts.

In an official statement, Lalit Yadav, Deputy Superintendent of Police, said that:

  • The viral video is not related to Kaithal
  • Police do not verify or support such claims
  • Legal action will be taken against those spreading misleading and false information

Public Awareness Message

This incident serves as an important public awareness reminder.
Not every viral video or social media post reflects the truth. Sharing unverified and sensitive content can spread fear, hatred, and social unrest. Verifying information before forwarding is a shared responsibility.
