Telangana Targets $1 Trillion Economy by 2034, Announces Bhatti Vikramarka

Telangana Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka announced plans to grow the state’s economy from $200 billion to $1 trillion by 2034, launch ₹5 lakh life insurance for 1.15 crore families and introduce a free breakfast scheme for students.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced that the state has adopted a global economic framework and finalized plans to expand Telangana’s economy from the current $200 billion to $1 trillion by 2034 and further to $3 trillion by 2047. The announcement was made during Telangana State Formation Day celebrations held at the Police Parade Grounds in Khammam, where the deputy Chief minister also unveiled a ₹5 lakh free life insurance scheme for 1.15 crore families and a free breakfast programme for government school students from the 2026-27 academic year.

Bhatti Vikramarka Hoists National Flag at Khammam Celebrations

The Telangana State Formation Day celebrations were held in a grand manner at the Police Parade Grounds in Khammam on Tuesday.

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka hoisted the National Flag and received the Guard of Honour from the armed forces.

Addressing the gathering, he said the People’s Government is functioning with the sole objective of providing social, economic and political justice to every citizen, inspired by the ideals of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Telangana Adopts Global Economic Framework

The Deputy Chief Minister outlined several initiatives aimed at transforming Telangana into a globally competitive economy.

Bhatti Vikramarka said the government has set an ambitious target to place Telangana’s economic growth on par with developed nations.

Plans have been finalised to scale up Telangana’s current economy from $200 billion to $1 trillion by 2034, and eventually into a massive $3 trillion economy by 2047,” he said.

‘Cure, Pure and Rare’ Model for Economic Growth

The Deputy Chief Minister announced that Telangana has adopted international economic models to drive planned and structured growth.

According to him, the state’s economy has been categorized into three segments:

  • Cure
  • Pure
  • Rare

The model has been introduced to accelerate economic expansion and ensure systematic development.

₹5 Lakh Life Insurance for 1.15 Crore Families

Bhatti Vikramarka announced the launch of the Indiramma Kutumba Jeevitha Bima Pathakam (Indiramma Family Life Insurance Scheme).

Under the scheme:

  • Every eligible family will receive free life insurance worth ₹5 lakh
  • The scheme will cover 1.15 crore families
  • Benefits will be extended without distinction between poor, middle-class or rich families

He stated that the initiative aims to provide social security to every family in Telangana and is unmatched even by many developed countries.

The Deputy Chief Minister said the scheme would provide crucial financial assistance to families during crises, particularly when they lose their sole breadwinner.

Progress of Abhayahastham and Indiramma Houses

During his speech, Bhatti Vikramarka also presented statistical details regarding:

  • Benefits delivered under the Abhayahastham programme
  • Progress of Indiramma Houses in Khammam district

Free Breakfast Scheme for Government School Students

Making another major announcement, the Deputy Chief Minister said the Telangana government will introduce a free nutritious breakfast scheme for students studying in government educational institutions.

The programme will be implemented from the 2026-27 academic year.

The scheme will cover students from:

  • Pre-Primary
  • Primary
  • Secondary
  • Intermediate levels

“The goal is to ensure that no child in Telangana goes to school on an empty stomach,” he said.
