The ruling Indian National Congress is displaying strong dominance in most districts, winning the maximum number of municipalities, while Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) remains competitive in its stronghold regions. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also made its presence felt in select areas.

Unified Nalgonda District: Congress Clean Sweep

In the Unified Nalgonda district, which has 17 municipalities, Congress has emerged as the dominant force, winning the majority of wards in almost all towns.

Congress-led Municipalities:

  • Alleru, Bhuvanagiri, Choutuppal, Motkur
  • Pochampally, Yadagirigutta, Huzurnagar
  • Kodada, Nereducharla, Suryapet
  • Chandur, Chityala, Devarakonda
  • Halia, Miryalaguda, Nandikonda

BRS Stronghold:

  • Tirumalagiri (15 wards)

Combined Medak District: Tough Fight Between Congress and BRS

The Combined Medak district witnessed a close contest, with BRS performing strongly in several municipalities.

BRS Wins:

  • Cheryala, Dubbaka, Gajwel, Gandapotaram
  • Jinnaram, Isnapur, Zaheerabad

Congress Wins:

  • Husnabad, Andolu-Jogipet, Kohir
  • Narayankhed, Sadashivapet, Sangareddy
  • Medak, Narsapur, Ramayampet, Toopran

Combined Mahabubnagar District: Congress Leads, BJP Breakthrough

In Mahabubnagar district, Congress won the maximum municipalities, while BJP captured Narayanpet.

  • Narayanpet: BJP
  • Gadwal, Wanaparthy, Shadnagar, Nagarkurnool: Congress
  • Alampur: Hung (Congress 5, BRS 5)
  • Amarachinta: Hung (Congress 3, BRS 3, BJP 3, Others 1)

Combined Warangal District: Congress on Top

Congress dominated the Warangal region, winning most municipalities.

BRS Wins:

  • Jangaon
  • Thorur

Hung Municipality:

  • Kesamudram (Congress 8, BRS 8)

All other municipalities including Narsampet, Mahabubabad, Bhupalpally and Mulugu went to Congress.

Combined Karimnagar District: Congress Sweeps Majority

Out of all municipalities, only Jammikunta and Sircilla went to BRS.
All remaining towns including Jagtial, Peddapalli, Huzurabad and Vemulawada were won by Congress.

Combined Khammam District: Complete Congress Control

Congress achieved a 100% sweep in the Khammam district, winning all municipalities:

  • Edulapuram, Madhira, Sattupalli
  • Vyra, Aswaraopet, Illendu

BRS failed to win even a single municipality here.

Combined Adilabad District: Mixed Verdict

  • Adilabad Municipality: BJP emerged strong
  • Asifabad, Kyathanapalli: BRS
  • Bhainsa, Nirmal, Chennur: Congress

Hung Municipalities:

  • Kagaznagar (Congress 10, BRS 10)
  • Bellampalli (Congress 14, BRS 14)

Joint Rangareddy District: Congress Leads, BRS Holds 3

Congress won the majority of municipalities including Chevella, Moinabad, Tandur and Vikarabad.

BRS Municipalities:

  • Ibrahimpatnam
  • Moduchintalapalli
  • Yellampet

Combined Nizamabad District: Congress Total Sweep

All municipalities in Nizamabad district went to Congress:

  • Armoor, Bodhan, Kamareddy
  • Banswada, Bhimgal, Yellareddy

Overall Trend

As counting continues, the Telangana municipal election results clearly show a strong Congress wave across urban local bodies, with BRS maintaining pockets of influence and BJP making selective gains.

With results still coming in, Congress is set to capture the maximum number of municipalities in Telangana, reinforcing its grip on local governance.
