H-FAST Hyderabad Warns Oil Traders: No Loose Edible Oil Sales, 15 Days Deadline or Legal Action

H-FAST Hyderabad warns oil traders against loose oil sales, gives 15 days deadline for compliance; strict legal action under food safety laws.

In a major food safety enforcement in Hyderabad, Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force & In-charge H-FAST, conducted an awareness meeting with oil manufacturers, suppliers, and stakeholders at the H-FAST Building, Begumbazar, Hyderabad.

He strictly warned against the sale of loose or unbranded edible oil, gave a 15 day deadline for compliance, and stated that violations will invite strict legal action. The compliance process is ongoing.

The awareness meeting was conducted by Sri Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath, IPS, focusing on food safety norms and legal compliance in edible oil manufacturing and sale.

During the session, all oil associates were clearly instructed not to sell loose or unbranded oil under any circumstances, as it poses serious health risks and violates food safety regulations.

Key Guidelines Issued to Oil Manufacturers and Suppliers

The following important points were discussed in detail during the H-FAST Hyderabad food safety meeting:

  • Prohibition on the sale of loose edible oil
  • Mandatory sale of properly packaged and sealed edible oil products
  • Importance of branding, labeling, and compliance with FSSAI guidelines
  • Mandatory details on packaging:
    • Manufacturing date
    • Expiry date
    • Batch number
    • FSSAI license number
    • Type/grade of edible oil
  • Adoption of hygienic practices in processing, storage, and transportation
  • Ensuring no adulteration or mixing of inferior, recycled, or harmful substances

Officials warned that violations will lead to strict penal action under:

  • Food Safety and Standards Act
  • Relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)

The DCP emphasized maintaining transparency in business practices and prioritizing public health over profit.

15 Days Deadline for Compliance

All oil manufacturers and suppliers have been given 15 days to ensure:

  • Complete stop to loose oil sales
  • Implementation of proper packaging and branding standards

Failure to comply will result in stringent legal action.

The public has been advised to:

  • Purchase only branded and properly sealed edible oil products
  • Buy from authorized sellers
  • Check labels carefully
  • Report suspected adulteration or illegal sale of loose oil to authorities
