Hyderabad: Goshamahal Police Arrest Ved Prakash Mittal for Assaulting Traffic Duty Officer Near Labour Adda

Goshamahal Police Station police apprehended one accused person and one Child in Conflict with Law (CCL) in a case involving voluntarily causing grievous hurt to a public servant during discharge of duty and deterring the public servant from performing official duty.

The case was registered as Crime No. 169/2026 under Section 121(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Goshamahal Police Station, Hyderabad.

Police identified the accused as Ved Prakash Mittal, son of Bharath Kumar Mittal.

Traffic Duty Officer Assaulted Near Labour Adda

According to the press note, the incident occurred on May 11, 2026, at around 20:10 hrs near Labour Adda.

Police said the complainant was performing traffic point duty when Ved Prakash Mittal and his son arrived on a Honda Activa bearing registration number TS 12 ET 2874.

Officials stated that the accused picked up a quarrel with the traffic officer over stopping the traffic.

During the altercation, police alleged that Ved Prakash Mittal abused and assaulted the complainant by punching him on the face and body.

Police further stated that the accused attacked the officer using a 5-liter water can, causing injuries.

Public and Police Helped Apprehend Accused

According to police, another duty officer and members of the public assisted in apprehending Ved Prakash Mittal.

The accused was later brought to Goshamahal Police Station.

Police said the accused’s son escaped from the spot after the incident.

Police Seize Honda Activa, Water Can and Smartphone

During the investigation, Goshamahal Police arrested Ved Prakash Mittal and apprehended the CCL.

Police seized the following items:

• One blue color empty water can
• Honda Activa bearing registration number TS 12 ET 2874
• One Moto G34 smartphone

Police also released the IMEI numbers of the seized mobile phone:

Officials stated that Ved Prakash Mittal was sent to judicial custody while the CCL was being produced before the DPO.

The press note stated that the swift action by Goshamahal Police reflects the commitment of Hyderabad City Police to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety.

Police warned that strict action would be taken against persons involved in unlawful and disruptive activities.

Officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and further legal action will be taken according to law.
