Hyderabad: Light to moderate rains lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Wednesday, bringing relief to residents suffering from scorching heat and humidity. Areas including Banjara Hills, Khairatabad, Panjagutta, Ibrahimpatnam, Alwal, LB Nagar, Uppal and Mehdipatnam received heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in several Telangana districts.

Heavy Rainfall Reported in Several Hyderabad Areas

Several parts of Hyderabad witnessed light to moderate rains on Wednesday evening.

Heavy rainfall was reported from Banjara Hills, Khairatabad, Panjagutta, Ibrahimpatnam, Alwal, LB Nagar, Uppal and Mehdipatnam.

The rains brought considerable relief to city residents who had been facing intense heat and humid weather conditions over the past few days.

IMD Issues Thunderstorm and Lightning Warning for Telangana

According to the latest update from the Meteorological Department, heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in the following districts:

  • Nalgonda
  • Vikarabad
  • Rangareddy
  • Sangareddy
  • Mahabubnagar

Officials advised people not to stay under trees during the rainy season due to the possibility of lightning strikes.

Residents Get Relief from Heat and Humidity

The sudden change in weather brought down temperatures across Hyderabad and surrounding areas.

Residents expressed relief after continuous scorching heat and humidity conditions in the city.

Authorities are monitoring the weather situation as more rainfall is expected in several parts of Telangana.
