Indiramma Houses for Urban Poor: CM Revanth Reddy Government to Build 2 Lakh Homes, first 1 Lakh Soon to Begin

Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the Telangana government will build two lakh Indiramma houses for urban poor families, with one lakh houses in the first phase. The announcement was made during the foundation stone ceremony of the Integrated Sub-Registrar Office Complex in Banjara Hills.

Hyderabad: Telangana Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the Revanth Reddy government will construct Indiramma houses for urban poor families within the areas where they currently live, ensuring their livelihoods are not affected. The government plans to construct one lakh houses in the first phase and another one lakh in the second phase, with a target of completing the first one lakh houses within a year.

The minister made these remarks on Saturday after laying the foundation stone for the Integrated Sub-Registrar Office Complex to be constructed in Banjara Hills along with fellow ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Mohammed Azharuddin.

Revanth Reddy Government to Build Indiramma Houses for Urban Poor

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the government would soon begin construction of the first one lakh Indiramma houses sanctioned under the GHMC limits.

He stated that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy would lay the foundation stone for the first phase of one lakh houses and that the government would ensure their completion within one year.

The minister assured that modern Indiramma houses would be built within the same constituencies where the beneficiaries currently reside so that their livelihoods are not disrupted.

No Relocation 30-40 Kilometres Away, Says Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy

The minister said the government would not follow the model adopted by the previous BRS government, under which people were allotted houses located 30 to 40 kilometres away from their original areas.

Instead, each constituency would be treated as a separate unit and houses would be constructed within the same constituency for eligible residents.

He described the housing programme as a gift from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, whom he referred to as a “big brother” for the poor.

Integrated Sub-Registrar Office Complex Coming Up in Banjara Hills

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the government is working to ensure that welfare schemes reach the doorstep of the poor.

He explained that the Integrated Office Complexes are being developed to bring services such as:

  • Stamps and Registration Department
  • Survey Department
  • Other related government services

under one roof for public convenience.

As part of the government’s reforms, 13 Sub-Registrar Offices under the jurisdiction of three corporations are being upgraded with corporate-style facilities comparable to those in the private sector.

Phoenix to Construct 30,000 Sq Ft Building

The minister stated that the project has been entrusted to reputed organizations from the real estate and construction sectors so that the government does not bear the financial burden.

He revealed that Phoenix will complete the Banjara Hills Integrated Office Complex, spread across 30,000 square feet, within a few months.

According to the minister, the complex will house:

  • SR Nagar Sub-Registrar Office
  • Banjara Hills Sub-Registrar Office
  • Golconda Sub-Registrar Office
  • DIG Office
  • Registrar of Chits – Golconda Office

He said the project would create additional employment and business opportunities for people in the area.

Arrangements for Muslim Community’s Namaz

Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that officials have been instructed to ensure that Muslim brothers, who have been offering Namaz in the area for hundreds of years, are able to conduct Namaz programmes twice every year.

The Telangana government has announced a major urban housing initiative under which two lakh Indiramma houses will be constructed for poor families, with one lakh houses to be built in the first phase and another one lakh in the second phase. Speaking at the foundation stone ceremony for the Integrated Sub-Registrar Office Complex in Banjara Hills, Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said the houses would be built within beneficiaries’ own constituencies and that the first phase would be completed within a year under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
